Thu, 18 December 2008 ![]() Let's go "off the board for a hundred" and let me tell you a story using classic songs! Episode #9 "Connect Four" answers:
The theme was "International Song Titles". This week's Storytime in Song: The weather was spectacular and I was in too good a mood to be stuck at home. So, I decided to “Walk on the Wild Side” (1972 by Lou Reed) by “Taking it to the Streets” (1976 by The Doobie Brothers). I headed across the “59th Street Bridge (Feelin' Groovy)” (1966 by Simon and Garfunkel) and ended up at "Macarthur Park” (1978 by Donna Summer) where everyone was “Get Up Offa That Thing (Dancing in the Street)" (1993 - originally 1964 - by Whoopi Goldberg and cast of “Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit” - originally performed by Martha and the Vandellas). From there, I walked down the “Boulevard” (1980 by Jackson Browne) to “Baker Street” (1978 by Gerry Rafferty) to watch the sunset over the “Playground in my Mind” (1973 by Clint Holmes). As darkness fell, the neighborhood lit up, and I headed home down this “Electric Avenue” (1983 by Eddie Grant). Join me next week for my very special Christmas episode! Comments[0] |
