If you are looking for the photo of the custom-made tee shirt that my partner Tommy made as the prize for "Switchboard", I don't have one to show yet since Tommy hasn't completed the shirt yet. We thought he'd have it done in time for publishing, but alas, not yet. As soon as it's ready, I'll take a photo of it and post. Thu, 5 February 2009  Introducing a new game called "Switchboard". As I mentioned in Show 15, one of the things I want to try with CMT is a random prize round, emphasizing again that the prizes would be good ones – prizes you’d want to play for. Well in today’s episode I’ve done just that. But remember I said you’d have to answer some questions to win, because the lucky winner will get either a custom-made slip-over shirt crafted by your friends here at CMT, or a $20 gift voucher from Amazon.com to spend any way you like – we’re not certain yet which one, but I’ll let you know for sure on the next episode. Also as promised last week, I have another new game for us to play, and it’s a prize round called “Switchboard”. For this game, I presented 2 sets of clips and you have to connect a clip from one set (let’s call it “Column A”) to its matching clip in the second set (let’s call it “Column B”). Since this is a random prize round, I’ll collect all the entries and reveal the correct answers in Show 19. This will allow you time to e-mail me your answers to as many pairings as you can. The theme was "International Song Titles". This week's Storytime in Song: The weather was spectacular and I was in too good a mood to be stuck at home. So, I decided to “Walk on the Wild Side” (1972 by Lou Reed) by “Taking it to the Streets” (1976 by The Doobie Brothers). I headed across the “59th Street Bridge (Feelin' Groovy)” (1966 by Simon and Garfunkel) and ended up at "Macarthur Park” (1978 by Donna Summer) where everyone was “Get Up Offa That Thing (Dancing in the Street)" (1993 - originally 1964 - by Whoopi Goldberg and cast of “Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit” - originally performed by Martha and the Vandellas). From there, I walked down the “Boulevard” (1980 by Jackson Browne) to “Baker Street” (1978 by Gerry Rafferty) to watch the sunset over the “Playground in my Mind” (1973 by Clint Holmes). Sun, 19 October 2008  Rainbow Colors and Spell the Beans! Welcome to my very first episode, my pilot episode. This is the newest trivia podcast to hit the cybernet waves, but what makes this show unique is that it features music, television and movie trivia from the mid-1960's to the late 80's, and era we like to call "classic". The show is really quite simple in structure: it's divided into two parts. Part One consists of five classic music questions and a classic television question which all surround a theme. The second part also consists of five classic music questions, but then I follow that with a classic movie question - all sourrounding a different theme than Part One. Finally I reveal the answers. This week's show surrounds two themes. Part One's theme is called "Rainbow Colors" meaning that a color will appear in either the name of the song or in the artist's name. The TV question includes a color in the title of the program. Part Two surrounds the theme called "Spell the Beans" where you will need to spell a part of the answer.
